Chinese Values V.S. American value

As a Chinese American student, I have much to say about the value differences between Chinese and American. , N' F: M" f% s/ l; m, X  B8 A $ h" P; M! o5 |4 W" B( hMoney wise... * B6 W7 l4 Q" K5 D  v1 B ' V; V0 z8 ], P7 w1) Americans spend more than they have, so they are almost always in debt. Chinese spend less or equal to the amount they have, so they always have money left in the bank for emergency. 0 S, O- q# s1 ~) p" l1 ?8 A$ H! N* c3 E+ @ * `, h8 g' f; _ 2) American kids love to make money by themselves. Chinese kids almost always ask money from their parents. ' e/ A* o  L, u( X! S1 d + ?5 e' i; @: J+ [" V9 D- k6 A : C/ o3 {# N% V! o) U8 \( j# S0 K 3) American parents think attending an expensive but pretigious college is useless. Chinese parents would do anything to send their children to good colleges even if it means that they have to sell everything they own.   t6 R1 f, j8 J. I; ]  Q

Relationship wise...
+ t& U5 ^0 U) x3 T" f0 U# [" o; Z1 Z; y& A7 s5 F3 W
1) Americans girls are usually very straight forward when expressing their love. They don't use wicked tricks to get their boyfriends. Chinese girls are more subtle in their ways of expressing love. Usually , they wait for the other party involved for signs. Sometimes, chinese girls would even spread rumors about the girl that the boy likes in order to separate them so that she gets the boy for herself.

$ R$ B/ ^: Q  ^. j$ d6 y2)American girls don't tolerate any mistakes that their boyfriends make while Chinese girls always suffer silently.

1) American girls are almost always involved in sports, dancing and singing groups while Chinese girls are almost always involved in academic and instrumental groups " p, p# y: c: Z

2) American students think that B is a gift while Chinese students think that B is a death sentence. ( q( B$ E( T% C  t0 B2 m

American parents VS Chinese parents : @8 y7 S% A, z6 \( ]

1) American parents allow their daughters or sons to go out with their boy or girlfriends as long as they come home at the certain curfew. Chinese parents usually dont approve of having relationship in middle or high school. 1 _8 M2 n1 S3 o: q1 r

  [4 ?7 R/ F, Z! n! l, E9 s2) American parents support and encourage their children at all times while Chinese parents think that criticism is the best love in the world. ; f0 e8 a" B% N8 R1 ]5 \; ?: y

3) American parents only look at their children's good side . Chinese parents seem to only see their children's bad side.

American Teachers VS Chinese Teachers . s- q; ~. ]1 {1 n& ]
& a& f0 q5 S" `% h" q4 f  `
1) American teachers love everyone equally. Actually, they love bad students more than good students. Chinese teachers always favor the good students.

* w& Q6 V* T$ c# V  X! W; t( `- b5 L, j  p% o3 f
2) During parents meeting, American teachers will always find good things to say to the parents , even to those with the worst grades. While Chinese teachers tell the parents every single mistake that their children made in school.

% ?2 C9 W. v! A& X3) American teachers don't teach. They just sit there and make the students read on their own. Chinese teachers teach things that are not even on the book. - z( M# H# M$ T

The above comparisons are strictly based upon my personal observation for the past 10 years. It applies to the general population rather than specific cases. THerefore, any disagreement incurred is inevitable.
